Strawberry Picking and Sherwood Forest...

Enjoying the strawberries

Hi people! Last week on Saturday, a couple friends and my family went to strawberry pick in Calverton. In there, it wasn't just strawberries, there were all kinds of summer berries e.g. gooseberries(you thought they didn't exist, huh?), raspberries and blueberries. The place looked amazing! Although the thistles and the strawberry's stem did sting a little. I picked the most strawberries, my sisters just picked some and they ate the load. I was very, very proud of the amount of my strawberries in my basket. My basket was full because most of my strawberries were big... If you're lucky, you might get a very sweet strawberry, if you aren't, you get a sour one. My dad said if the strawberry was small and scarlet red it's a sweet one. Well that's what my dad said or something like that.

It was nearly lunchtime when we arrived at the actual Sherwood Forest because we arrived at the Sherwood Pine NOT THE Sherwood Forest. As you know, Sherwood Forest was in association with the legendary tale of Robin Hood. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the Major Oak Tree. The Major Oak Tree was Robin Hood's hiding place. We did have a good picnic. We played Frisbee and saw a few grey squirrels and a couple of red-chested robins. It was a fantastic day out!

After we went back, my mum went out to buy a couple of chocolate bars, so we can melt the chocolate and dip our strawberries in them. They tasted marvellous!
